For DISPUTES<\/strong> with the tax authorities, our fees are based on the outcome\u2014specifically, on the amount of the tax refund obtained. This is known as<\/span> a contingency fee arrangement ,<\/span> which is standard practice.<\/p>

Less commonly, when the team provides CONSULTING services<\/strong> ,<\/span> we offer a flat-fee arrangement combined with a success-based fee.<\/p>

In practice:<\/strong><\/p>

FareWell charges a flat fee to review the case and identify optimization solutions tailored to the client\u2019s objectives and circumstances.<\/p>

Then, once the plan has been approved, FareWell calculates the client\u2019s gain resulting from the plan compared to the client\u2019s initial situation, and then charges a percentage of the optimization achieved\u2014between 5 and 7 percent (excluding tax) of the client\u2019s gain, depending on the circumstances.<\/p>

For example, when FareWell proposes a transfer plan that saves a client \u20ac1 million in estate taxes, FareWell offers a flat fee of \u20ac3,000 and will bill \u20ac70,000 in success fees (based on a 7% success fee rate). <\/p>

And the icing on the cake: when we bill the board on a success-based fee basis, our clients benefit from a tax guarantee<\/strong>: we defend our tax planning strategies at no additional charge in the event of a request for information or a proposed assessment from the tax authorities\u2014and even when responding to questions from a banker, a fellow attorney, or a notary.<\/p>
